Die Ver�nderung der Konzentration von Hydroxyprolin im Plasma nach Anastomosen am Darm

Abstract: Hydroxyproline plasma levels were determined in 39 patients before and after operation of the gastrointestinal tract. In the immediate postoperative period a decreased collagen metabolism was detected. From the third and seventh postoperative day respectively a considerable increase of the plasma concentration prevailed to the termination of the measurement period. “…This might indicate that surgical tissue manipulation stopped collagen turnover or that free hydroxyproline is excreted e.g., via urine. Venbrocks et al also described decreased plasma hydroxyproline levels directly after surgery but plasma concentrations increased after the 3rd postoperative day [ 45 ]. Since there is evidence that supplementation of hydroxyproline and collagen hydrolysates may improve wound healing [ 44 , 46 ], further studies are necessary to evaluate the further postoperative concentrations of hydroxyproline to determine whether supplementation of hydroxyproline might be a useful tool to improve postoperative wound healing.…”
