Die Autoimmunthyreoiditis (Hashimoto-Thyreoiditis): aktuelle Diagnostik und Therapie

Abstract: Hashimoto's thyroiditis is a common autoimmune thyroid disease with preference of female gender. The chronic thyroiditis is characterized by autoantibodies against thyroid peroxidase and thyroglobulin. With manifestation, there is often a subclinical hypothyroidism that finally progresses to a persistent hypothyroidism with typical clinical symptoms and the need of hormonal substitution in succession of the lymphocytic infiltration of the thyroid. The ultrasound of the thyroid shows a hypoechogenic and inhomog… Show more

“…The patients with hyperthyroidism showed higher values of serum TG-Ab compared with other groups . The autoantibodies for TG and TPO were regarded as markers to the autoimmune thyroid diseases , in which TG-Abs was higher prevalent compared with TPO-Abs (Mclachlan & Rapoport , 1995 ;Saudra & Basil, 2004 ;Fink & Hintze , 2010 ). there were significant differences in the concentration of HLA-DR3in all groups of patients in comparison with healthy subjects .…”

“…Anti-TPO antibodies, in contrast to anti-thyroglobulin antibodies (ATG), are able to induce the complement system and cellular cytotoxicity. There is a high correlation between the concentration of anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies and the presence of lymphocytic infiltration of the thyroid gland [28,29].…”

“…Its prevalence is influenced by ethnicity, environmental factors, such as iodine and selenium status, age and gender [1,2]. Clinical manifestations of the disease are caused primarily by low levels of thyroid hormones, for which the treatment is hormone replacement therapy, which usually consists of levothyroxine (LT 4 ) [3].…”
