Bei 35 Patien ten (mä ßi ge HIT) war nach der Auf nah me von min de stens ei nem his ta min rei chen Nahrungs mit tel min de stens ein HIT-Symp tom auf ge tre ten. Ob jec tive: The aim of the study was to in ves ti gate if pa tients his to ries, that are sug ges tive to HIT have a sig nif i cant re duced se rum DAO ac tiv ity com pared to patients with out his tory of HIT. Meth ods: 61 patients and 20 con trols were stud ied. 26 patients (strong HIT) had a his tory of at least two typ i cal symp toms of HIT with re la tion to the in take of at least two his ta mine rich foods. 35 pa tients (mod er ate HIT) had a his tory of at least one symp tom af ter the in take of at least one his ta mine rich food (but not both). 20 healthy vol un teers (con trol) did not have any symp toms of HIT. Pa tients were in ter viewed on type of clin i cal symp toms and the re la tion of symp toms to food in ges tion. Sera were ana lysed for DAO ac tiv ity by an ELISA test.
