“…The roadside soils in Hong Kong, China, had a mean pH of 8.7, in which over half of the samples were rated strongly alkaline (pH 8.5-9.0) and very strongly alkaline (pH 9.0-9.5; Jim 1998c). In Szeged, Hungary, the urban soil pH was 7.6-9.1, while local hill soil developed on granitic material had a pH of 4.0-5.0 (Puskás and Farsang 2009).
