Developmental Regulation of Gastric Somatostatin Secretion in the Sheep*

Abstract: Gastric somatostatin (SRIF) regulates gastric acidity by inhibiting gastric acid and gastrin secretion. SRIF secretion is increased by gastric acidity and also directly by regulators of gastric acid secretion such as gastrin.
