“…There are seven steps done in the modeling using SSM (Fig. 2) (Checkland and Poulter, 2010;Darmanto, 2014;Batubara, 2016;Fadhil et al, 2017;Fadhil et al, 2018;Fakhrurrazi, 2018), which are: 1. “…This method has been used as one of the strategies in solving various managerial problems that grow from the human activity system (Bergvall-Kareborn, 2002;Martin, 2008;Fadhil et al, 2017). Soft system methodology has been widely used to solve several problems that grow in the community in many fields of the problem (Fadhil et al, 2018).…”

“…In the previous study, the high physical contamination is caused by traditional drying techniques. Coffee beans are contaminated with rocks, gravels, dirt, and branches, resulting from the beans are placed on the floor or soil [18]. Higher risk to other contaminants such as ochratoxin A occurs in a longer period of drying time [19].…”

“…SSM makes a clear distinction between a messy and complicated 'real world' part which is the subject of several forms of inquiry, and a conceptual reference model, which is used to compile the inquiry (Wilson dan Haperen, 2009). Some studies using Soft System Methodology (SSM) include Liu (2012) who uses SSM to identify and analyze stakeholders from an organization at various levels (Liu, 2012), Fadhil et al (2018) who developed a quality management system strategy using SSM, Sgourou et al (2012) use SSM to evaluate occupational health and safety performance (K3) and support decision making for safety improvement programs. Soetara et al (2018) use SSM to design conceptual models from Lean Mannufacturing, Zarei et al (2014) use SSM to describe the marketing and advertising industry in Iran, Sadri and Sadri (2014) use SSM to understand the process of implementing social responsibility from companies.…”
