“…This study proposes a new laboratory activity model called the Sophisticated Thinking Blended Laboratory (STB-LAB) to improve argumentation skills. The STB-LAB laboratory activity model is made based on the LOTS-HOTS transition by making arguments as the disposition of LOTS to HOTS (Agustina et al, 2022). STB-LAB was chosen as the model for laboratory activities in this study because of three main advantages; (1) The syntax contained in the STB-LAB is very suitable for practicing argumentation skills; (2) LOTS-HOTS disposition which is useful for students to develop long-term argumentation skills; and (3) clear and directed systematics of laboratory activities in training argumentation skills to students' critical thinking skills.…”
