Provinsi Kepulauan Riau merupakan salah satu daerah strategis berpemerintahan sendiri dengan sumber dayaaalam yang melimpah baik di bidang pertanian, kelautan maupun industri, sehingga menghasilkan pendapatan perkapita yang lebih tinggi dibandingkanadengan provinsi lain. Menurut Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS), Riau dikaruniai sumber daya alam yang melimpah, namun masih tergolong negara dengan tingkat pengangguran tertinggi, peringkat ketiga setelah Jawa dengan 8,52%. Akibatnya, tingkat PDRB Riau masih berada pada kategori pendapatan menengah dimana kelompok yang memiliki tingkat pendapatan di antara kategori pendapatan rendah dan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisisadan menentukan langkah-langkah pembangunan daerah menurut sektor-sektor kunci di Riau dengan metodologi Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) menggunakan pendekatan persektoral. Hal tersebut berfokus pada area kegiatan lokal. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah pendekatan analisis sektor yang mencakup analisis LQ dan DLQ, shift share, serta tipologi kelas. Berdasarkan riset dari Pertumbuhan ekonomi, Riau memiliki sembilan sektor ekonomi potensial: pertanian, manufaktur, hotel dan restoran, kontruksi, transportasi, telekomunikasi, pertambangan, jasa keuangan, jasa dunia usaha serta real estate. Sektor-sektor memberikan dasar untuk merumuskan kebijakan pemerintah yang akan menyerap tenaga kerja dan tingkat upah untuk mempersempit pengangguran dan kemudian meningkatkan Produk Domestik Bruto (PDRB) daerah dapat diharapkan Riau akan meningkat.

The extent of Indonesia's mangrove forests has decreased in recent decades, generally influenced by anthropogenic factors including in Kotabaru Regency of South Kalimantan Province, Indonesia. It is necessary to prepare alternative livelihoods and sustainable use of mangrove areas as an effort to reduce pressure on mangrove forests, through cultivation in mangrove areas (silvofishery) and ecotourism. One of the methods used to map the potential of ecotourism is by using a descriptive analysis approach and SWOT analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats). The potential suitability of mangrove ecotourism can be assessed by: 1) identified the SWOT factors according to local characteristics then calculating weights and scores of these parameters; 2) field survey to acquire the thickness of mangrove vegetation from coast to land, mangrove density, mangrove species, tidal water levels in mangrove areas, aquatic and terrestrial biota objects that interact in mangroves, accessibility, and connectivity with other tourism area. The strategies for mangrove conservation at provincial level which have been formulated using SWOT approach, then derived into action plan at regional level by identifying a potential site for this purpose. Based on Mangrove Tourism Suitability Index, this site gains a total score of 2.81, (very appropriate category). Recommended mangrove ecotourism activities can be integrated with shrimp/milkfish/crab in silvofishery area which will be managed by local communities, as well as mangrove breeding and mangrove planting activities for mangroves species that naturally grow in the area.

The Bogowonto River estuary is a coastal area in the open water category because it faces the Indian Ocean directly, it has high wave energy, which will cause erosion and abrasion, and the presence of mangrove and pond ecosystems (silvofishery) can support the development of coastal areas as conservation land. So it is necessary to conduct research to examine the influence of soil physical properties on silvofishing and determine the types of mangroves in the Bogowonto River estuary area. The method used was a survey, where soil samples were tested at the Yogyakarta BPTP Laboratory and the Yogyakarta "Veteran" National Development University at a depth of 0–20 cm and 20–40 cm. Sampling was conducted in a zigzag method from the left (near the pond) and right sides of the river. The results of the research found that there are 2 types of mangroves, namely the Tan cang (Bruguiera sp.), which grows far from the coastline and close to fish pond areas (silvofishery), has a has a relatively stable pH, is dominated by clay texture, and has a low salinity level. White Mangrove (Avicennia sp.) grows near the coastline, with a dominant sandy loam texture, low-normal pH, and high salinity levels. Mangroves that grow along the southern river in the presence of silvofishery can help with the deposition process of mud that is transported along the river and maintain the sustainability of fish populations, and litter from mangroves tends to increase the organic matter content of the soil.
