Development of OCIPSE Learning Model to Increase Students’ Scientific Creativity in Natural Science Learning

Abstract: This Research & Development (R & D) has the main goal to develop and produce OCIPSE learning model. The main product of this research is the OCIPSE learning model with five phases, they are 1) Orient and organize the students for study; 2) Collaborative Investigation; 3) Presentation and discussion; 4) Strengthening of scientific creativity; and 5) Evaluate and provide recognition. The OCIPSE learning model’ quality data is obtained through an expert validation process by using the OCIPSE learning mode… Show more

“…Mathematics Learning Model of Open Problem Solving to Develop Students' Creativity (PMT Model) was validated by three experts, and it was stated that the PMT Model could develop student's creativity (Suastika, 2017). Another research, Creative exploration, Creative elaboration, Creative modeling, Practice scientific creativity, Discussion and Reflection (C3PDR) learning model is a valid model that specifically developed to improve the students' scientific creativity of Junior high school (Kirana et al, 2020). However, in this study, the learning model is designed to stimulate every variable that builds creativity, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, elaboration, and has been validated by experts on each variable, not just overall creativity skill.…”

“…Figural creativity of the students was measured using the Figural Creativity Test (Hendrik et al, 2018;2020;Gunawan et al, 2018). Regarding the measurement of creativity, the most widely used test is the figural creativity test developed by Torrance known as Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT) (Ayob et al, 2012;Rababah et al, 2013), TTCT in the form of tests which involves completing a picture (i.e., drawing completions test), referred to as the Wartegg test (Hendrik et al, 2019).…”

“…Furthermore, the process stimulates students to absorb and get new ideas from other students, thus helping in completing the required knowledge [43]. Thus, the collaboration process in the CCL model contributes to fostering active learning that encourages creativity in creating new ideas according to the science product indicators in SCS [44].…”
