Development of Highly Sensitive Analysis Method for Histamine and Metabolites in Pregnant Women’s Fingernail by UPLC-ESI-MS

Abstract: In this study, a highly sensitive analysis method for the rapid detection of histamine (HA), imidazole-4-acetic acid (IAA) and 1-methylhistamine (MHA) in pregnant women fingernails was developed by the ultra-performance liquid chromatography ( coefficient were found to be above 0.9998, the measured detection limit for derivatized histamine and metabolites ranged from 0.06 fmol to 0.15 fmol, and the relative standard derivations of intra-day and inter-day assay were 6.3%. Furthermore, the mean recoveries (%) of… Show more

“…So far, a number of methods have been explored to detect His or its metabolites alone, such as the colorimetric method for the detection of His and Hi, , the fluorometric method for the detection of His and Hi, , chromatography for the detection of His, the electrochemical method for the detection of His and Hi, , lateral flow immunoassay for the detection of Hi, and immunochromatographic method for the detection of Hi . Liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray mass spectrometry , was reported for simultaneous detection and discrimination of His and its metabolites in complex media. However, it often suffers from the disadvantages of high cost, complicated instruments, and professional operations, which hinders its further applications.…”
