Development of Environmental Friendly Dust Suppressant Based on the Modification of Soybean Protein Isolate

Abstract: Aiming to further improve the dust suppression performance of the dust suppressant, the present study independently develops a new type of biodegradable environmentally-friendly dust suppressant. Specifically, the naturally occurring biodegradable soybean protein isolate (SPI) is selected as the main material, which is subject to an anionic surfactant, i.e., sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS) for modification with the presence of additives including carboxymethylcellulose sodium and methanesiliconic acid sodium. “…Roof movement is divided into three stages: early stage, transition stage, and later stage; and two basic forms: roof rotation and subsidence . On this basis, Zhang et al proposed the concept of a wedge‐shaped bearing area and further clarified the transmission and bearing mechanism of the gob‐side roof. Additionally, floor deformation and failure processes of gob‐side entry retaining were studied during roadway driving, primary mining, and secondary mining periods.…”

“…Based on the surfactant formulations, patents, and related academic papers on dust reduction via spraying in coal mine in various countries, two types of surfactants, i.e., anionic and nonionic, were selected from various surfactants in this study [55][56][57][58][59]. A total of four reagents were used for experiments.…”

“…us, it is important to develop deep coal resources safely and efficiently [3][4][5][6]. In the coal mining process, confining pressure is unloaded from the rock mass, which often leads to coal mine disasters such as structural instability and rock burst [7,8].…”
