Development of a Representative Model for Different Body Shapes of 18-24 Aged Women - An Application of a 3D Morphing Technique -

Abstract: : The purpose of this study is to classify body types into different groups based on 3D scanned data, and identify the representative body shapes that most frequently appear in the groups. A high frequency range was defined based on body measurement data, and representative shapes were identified based on body scan data of women aged 18-24. The major findings of this study are as follows. First, the three typical types of height, bust and drop mixes among Korean women aged 18-24 are as follows:) 155-88-N,) 160… Show more

“…A cross-analysis was conducted by dividing the size section of each dimension. In accordance with previous studies conducted by KATS [9] and Choi [5], six-size sections, distributed as more than 5% of the total 399 subjects, were selected as high-frequency proportion sections (see Table 5 below) [11,12]. The proportion coverage of the six size-sections selected through the cross-analysis reached 70.9%.…”

“…Morphing offers an advantage of accuracy in that the shape of the template model is changed to be closer to the target model, and the degree of morphing can be controlled (Park et al, 2007). Generally, morphological characteristics of the human body are averaged with the 3D scan data and the representative shape is derived through the morphing technique (Shin et al, 2011;Shin, 2005). Morphing is basically a technique of changing the image, so that it can transform a human body model made by the polygon technique into another shape and size.…”
