Development of a Multisensor-Based Non-Contact Anthropometric System for Early Stunting Detection

Abstract: The stunting prevalence in Indonesia is still above the WHO minimum standard of 20%. An important aspect of early detection of stunting is to monitor the nutritional status of children under five periodically. In daily practice, nutritional status is obtained through anthropometry. The main anthropometric parameters are body mass, height, and head circumference. This research entails the development of an integrated and non-contact anthropometric system for measuring body mass, height, and head circumference f… Show more

“…In the works presented in [ 29 , 30 , 31 , 32 , 33 ], the continuous monitoring of vital signs such as breathing and heartbeat temperatures is carried out; these variables play an essential role in predicting diseases. The results highlight the significance of assessing these devices for telemonitoring and clinical decision making, illustrating the potential of wearable technology in real-time health monitoring.…”

“…Currently, several digital height measurement innovations by utilizing various technologies have been developed. For example, stadiometers with ultrasonic sensors such as in the study in Canada [6], Korea [7], France [8], United Kingdom [9], Argentina, Brazil, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Denmark, Egypt, France, Germany, India, Norway, and Thailand [10] also in Indonesia [11]. This article is a review of the use of ultrasonic sensors in anthropometry and body measurement in humans worldwive.…”
