White phosphors of single-substrate SrLa1-xAl3O7: xDy 3+ (x=0.01~0.08) have been successfully prepared by the high-temperature solid-phase method and the results show the best sintering temperature is 900°C. The phase of the phosphors analyzed by X-Ray diffraction (XRD) shows that the doping of Dy 3+ essentially unchange the crystal structure of the matrix SrLaAl3O7. 3+ in the matrix is 0.05. SrLa0.95Al3O7: 0.05Dy 3+ phosphor exhibits white light emission under 347 nm excitation, chromaticity coordinates are (0.343, 0.364), and color temperature is 5109 K. These results reveal SrLaAl3O7: Dy 3+ is a great single doped white light phosphor which is suitable for daily lighting use.
The morphology and energy spectrum of phosphors of SrLa1-xAl3O7: xDy 3+ were carried out with a field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM). The concentration quenching effect of the sample comes from the exchange interaction between Dy 3+ , and the optimal doping concentration of Dy
