However, proper conceptualization and measurement of this phenomenon have not been done in the Nigerian context based on the review literature. “…In contrast to the background characteristics, the associations found between internet use patterns and technostress resemble the findings of studies exploring antecedents of technostress among younger users (e.g. Ishola et al, 2019;Tarafdar et al, 2011). Higher levels of technostress associated with less internet experience, less frequent use during a typical week and smaller use repertoire, possibly indicating lower computer efficacy and less confidence.…”

“…Individual characteristics include sociodemographic background and technology-related factors such as use patterns and digital skills. Studies generally demonstrate that higher levels of technostress associate with the male gender (De Giovanni & Catania, 2018;Ragu-Nathan et al, 2008), lower education (Ragu-Nathan et al, 2008), lower income (S¸ahin & C¸oklar, 2009) and being employed (De Giovanni & Catania, 2018), as well as less experience using computers and lower computer efficacy and confidence (Ishola, Obasi, & Oluwole, 2019;Ragu-Nathan et al, 2008;Tarafdar, Tu, Ragu-Nathan, & Ragu-Nathan, 2011).…”

Individual characteristics include age (Hauk et al, 2019 ; Nimrod, 2022 ), gender (De Giovanni & Catania, 2018 ; Marchiori et al, 2019 ; Ragu-Nathan et al, 2008 ), income level (Şahin & Çoklar, 2009 ), educational level (Ragu-Nathan et al, 2008 ; Shu et al, 2011 ), and ICT-related factors (Ishola et al, 2019 ; Tarafdar et al, 2011 ). Characteristics of the organizational environment include aspects related to the tasks to be performed (Leung & Zhang, 2017 ; Molino et al, 2020 ), the support mechanisms provided by the organization (Li & Wang, 2021 ), and the culture of the organization (Spagnoli et al, 2020 ).…”

“…Stress often experienced by students is related to as academic stress (Taufik et al, 2013). Academic stress is clearer in high school students because it is often confronting higher academic expectations (Azmy et al, 2017;Barseli et al, 2018;Ishola et al, 2019;Rahmadani, 2014). One illustration of an academic resource for high school students is preparing for a National Selection for both a Private and Public College; where students have high expectations for entrance a prestige college (Kinantie, 2012;Wardana & Dinata, 2016).…”
