“…Given that it is the first time that the Specific CAESPO self-care questionnaire has been used, it is not possible to compare it with other samples or to determine the exact level of self-care of the studied population. However, given that the different factors and dimensions of self-care yielded scores that exceeded, in general, the average established in the validation of the instrument [ 33 ], it can be considered that the level of acquisition of competences in self-care by the studied population was high; although, it could be improved in some aspects.…”

“…The S-QoL [ 33 ] contains 2 factors—stoma care subscale and social subscale—covered in 28 items. Respondents choose 1 of the 5 possible answers, ranging from “not at all confident” to “extremely confident”.…”

“…Further research, considering a larger and more geographically diverse sample is, thus, warranted. Secondly, the sample size for the 2‐week test–retest reliability test was relatively small compared with those used for developing instruments for people living with a stoma (Collado‐Boira et al., 2018; Du, 2017). More studies are needed for further evaluation of the psychometric properties of the questionnaire.…”

“…Several instruments (Collado-Boira et al, 2018;Du, 2017;Han, 2014;Kristensen et al, 2013) have been developed to measure self-management behaviours for persons living with a stoma, including the Specific Self-Care for Ostomized Patients Questionnaire (Collado-Boira et al, 2018), the Self-management Behavior Questionnaire with Enterostomy Patients (Du, 2017), the Enterostomy Patients Self-management Questionnaire (Han, 2014), and Urostomy Education Scale (Kristensen et al, 2013). Three instruments (Collado-Boira et al, 2018;Du, 2017;Han, 2014) developed for persons with faecal ostomies contained items (such as "eats vegetables" or "controls salt in meals") which are not required for those with a urostomy (Prinz et al, 2015;WOCN, 2018). The Chinese version of Urostomy Education Scale, validated by Fu (2014), only focused on self-care behaviours related to changing the pouching system for persons with a urostomy.…”
