Development and characterization of polylactic acid bandage coated with biopolymers and drugs for wound healing

Abstract: For the present work, polylactic acid yarn (140 denier) was used for the production of bandage. The physical properties of fabric were measured. Chitosan-sodium alginate, calcium alginate-sodium alginate polymer and their blends were coated separately on the bandage to incorporate wound healing, haemostatic, easy removal, biocompatibility and antibacterial property.
