Developing maturity levels for flood resilience of businesses using built environment flood resilience capability areas

Abstract: The inability of organisations to adequately assess climate risk, understand and execute necessary actions contribute significantly to the increase in economic loss from disasters. This is a threat to business resilience and sustainability of the society. Hence, resilience capabilities of organisations need to be improved, and there should be a way of assessing these capabilities. This paper focuses on the methodology adopted and the maturity model produced by utilising Capability Maturity Model (CMM) concept … Show more

“…This model assesses aspects regarding the implantation of hospital beds and considers the following three axes of interest: governance, logistics and care. Three models assess resilience in the disaster context (Gimenez et al, 2017;Hernantes et al, 2019;Adeniyi et al, 2019). Gimenez et al (2017) proposed a sequence of stages that enable stakeholder guidance during the process of building resilience.…”

“…In addition to the integrated assessment, there are also the development of economically targeted property flood-resilience in flood-risk management (targeted PFR) models, the index-based spatialized urban flood resilience index (S-FRESI) models [ 70 ], and capability maturity models (CMM) for companies [ 117 ]. When using indicator models for evaluation, research has been conducted from a variety of perspectives, including disaster-risk management [ 118 ], community-resilience assessment in specific regions [ 109 , 119 , 120 ] and urban land-ecosystem-resilience evaluation [ 121 , 122 ].…”
