The discussed ESP module for librarians was one of eight modules developed and implemented within the DIREKT Erasmus+ project funded by the European Commission through the Capacity Building in the Higher Education Program. The aim was to improve, develop and modernise higher education systems in Asia through university cooperation. The idea behind teaching English to librarians was to equip them with an ability to provide support to academic staff and students concerning information resources, databases and research studies, which are available mainly in English. Librarians are the key link between the activities of academic staff, students and the library, therefore there is a need for librarians to reach at least an A2 level of the CEFR in English. The ESP module is aimed to develop a functional language for the library staff in authentic library situations, such as borrowing and returning books, using library jargon, providing assistance, guidance and advice in finding quality library sources and databases, referencing, citation and avoiding plagiarism. This research study aims to evaluate the implementation of the ESP module for librarians at five universities in China and Kazakhstan. Research methods applied in this study were observation, students’ questionnaires and teachers’ evaluations. To summarize the findings, it was discovered that even though the taught module was the same, there were differences in focus, teaching techniques, activities and used materials.

To respond to the need of suitable materials for students of Library Science Department of Universitas Negeri Malang, this R&D project was designed to produce audio speaking materials using CLIL approach for blended learning. The method of development covered three main stages: exploring (identification and exploration of needs), developing (pedagogical realization of the product), and validating using peer review, practitioners’ validation, media expert validation, and try out. Three innovations were produced in this study: (1) Competence- CLIL-Based Speaking Syllabus completed with a speaking assessment instrument covering a speaking prompt and a scoring rubric, (2) audio materials accessible through Edmodo, (3) and a module for Speaking activities. The results show that the materials are suitable for the students’ communicative needs, interesting and meaningful for them. They also make learners motivated to learn

The Ministry of Education of my country released the first “national standard” in January 2018, clearly stating that it is necessary to attach importance to and improve the ability of undergraduates. Through the analysis of the research results in this field at home and abroad, this study finds that the thinking ability training strategies that can be provided in the previous research are relatively scattered, and there is a lack of effective training methods and guidance. Therefore, Dr. Wen Qiufang proposed the teaching method of “production-oriented approach.” “Production-oriented approach” includes driving, promoting, and re-evaluation, in which the training content is integrated into each link. Therefore, this study combines training and Production-oriented Approach, and using this theoretical basis in the English teaching classroom can explore better. It provides a new way for the cultivation of college students’ English thinking ability. In the actual classroom teaching, the production-oriented teaching method is used to teach English to the students during the research process. After the teaching course is over, the teaching data are collected and analyzed with SPSS 25.0 software, and the data results are displayed. It can be seen that applying the Production-oriented approach to English classroom teaching can indeed improve the level of domestic college English students and provide a reference approach and method for students’ English training, and this method is effective and feasible.
