Developing, evaluating and maintaining a standardized stormwater BMP effectiveness database

Abstract: The Urban Water Resources Research Council of the American Society of Civil Engineers, under a cooperative agreement with the US Environmental Protection Agency, released Version 1.0 of the National Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP) Database to the stormwater management community in 1999. The product included a loaded database of 71 BMPs, as well as data entry software for standardized reporting of BMP test data. In conjunction with the database, the project team developed BMP performance evaluation p… Show more

“…Further measures for CSO control include unsealing impervious surfaces, local infiltration of rainwater (Clary et al 2002) and the activation of available storage volume in the sewer system by real-time control (Schü tze et al 2004). Efficiency control of these measures will usually be based on measurements within the sewer system and subsequent comparison with (legal) requirements, e.g.…”

“…It is very important to conduct field monitoring at constructed sites to accumulate data and develop analytical methods that will help to localize the applications for different cities in China. The application is very similar to the construction of the BMP database in the USA [21]. Therefore, the method of localizing the model is a future research question.…”
