As a concept that is somewhat under emergence, the notion of the Metaverse varies across different academic articles. Yet there is a shared view on the benefits to its ongoing implementation, particularly for digital art, where the technology can provide a new metric for artists to showcase and sell their artwork to a global audience with minimal barriers, and for consumers to have an unbounded experience not limited by physical space or museum entry fees. In this article, a contribution is provided to a broader conversation about the future of the digital art and the Metaverse and its role in shaping our online culture. We discuss the concept of the Metaverse, its structure, the role of artificial intelligence and the benefits (and limitations) the technology holds for digital art. For a case study, we develop a 3D art gallery housing an art collection generated using artificial-intelligence-based techniques such as diffusion models. A total of 67 individuals are surveyed from three pools (two in-person and one online-based), with questions relating to the future of digital art, the Metaverse and artificial intelligence. Findings include that the majority of participants were familiar with the concept of the Metaverse and overall, they had a predominately optimistic view of both the use artificial intelligence for art, and the use of the Metaverse to support digital art, with 85.3% of the participants having already seen artificial-intelligence-based artwork. The identification of consumer segments further highlights the importance of finding customised solutions, considering consumers’ heterogenous preferences for AI-generated art. Research presented in this article will be beneficial for those looking to explore the Metaverse for artwork and develop virtual galleries, and the findings further highlight the Metaverse as a potential democratising force in the art world.

The online service market has seen increased integration and activation driven by manufacturing efficiency and automation, further accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to a growing demand for Metaverse technology and applications. However, developing Metaverse applications using diverse methods presents significant cost and time constraints for developers and businesses. In particular, the development of integrated application services based on the metaverse is facing an increase in development process complexity, which can lead to a significant rise in development costs and time. This study proposed an optimized design approach for Metaverse application development models. The concept of a 'Metaverse convergence service' refers to a pioneering service that seamlessly merges conventional application-based information services with cutting-edge Metaverse technology and tools. The 'Unified Metaverse Creation' model addresses this issue, providing Metaverse developers with support for working convergence processes in a consistent environment and enhancing service quality. The challenges associated with developing Metaverse convergence services were investigated in the research, and essential assessment criteria for the development system were outlined. Therefore, this study aims to propose an optimized design methodology for the Metaverse integration application development process model, analyze key technological issues, suggest strategies for successful development, and provide an evaluation framework for Metaverse integration systems.

Metaverse has established itself as the newest advancement in the current web world. The notion has garnered significant interest across multiple industries, the community, and particularly within academic institutions. It is the future gateway for any human-computer engagement. It intends to create an immersive digital space where users interact in real time with the virtual world and similar participants. The metaverse is a dynamic concept that is continuously evolving rather than being a phenomenon that can be easily examined. Therefore, the present study applied the sentiment analysis method to generate a new understanding regarding the notion of the metaverse. The study aims to determine the nature of Indian digital media content and whether it promotes or disapproves of the concept of the metaverse. Using the web scraping code, we generate a customized dataset, an excel file comprising 614 websites. The study aims to develop a systematic and standardized method for generating novel insights about the metaverse by analyzing current resources. The present analysis encompasses a broader range of online media, including news, blogs, and articles on the metaverse, in comparison to scholarly publications. The outcome demonstrates that the metaverse has a positive trajectory in mainstream media and will be a future technology for media, entertainment, and other internet-based industries.
