The goal of this study is to make evident the strong connections between creativity and quality management, since creativity and quality management subjects currently are observed with an increasing interest all around the world. The methodology of the research is based on the data collection and information about creativity index and ISO 9001:2015 standards, which are applied in developed, medium income developing countries, as well as in low income developing countries. It has been used a regressive analysis followed by analysis of variance, which resulted on the main conclusion of this study that relations between creativity and ISO standards application is strong. The main recommendation is that application of ISO standards relates mostly to quality and its management, and when it comes to quality of products or services, it refers specifically to the perception of extent to which products and services fulfill customer’s expectation and this is related to culture and creativity.

The paper presents the results of the "Smart People for Smart Cities!" project funded by European Structural Funds Human Resources. "1 Decembrie 1918" University of Alba Iulia, Romania in partnership with UTI SA Romania, UNINOVA Portugal and INFOR ELEA Italy have collaborated to bridge and enhance people's skills and competences for the development of smart city applications within the university curricula of Applied Electronics, Computer Science and Environmental Engineering specialties. The primary goal was to create an enhanced learning and teaching environment, goal that was achieved through specific objectives: (i.) to set up a researchtesting laboratory where real conditions of a smart city is simulated; (ii.) to develop and implement a software instrument for students' evaluation; (iii.) to develop and implement a software solution for processing data provided by various types of sensors used in the smart city environment. The project successfully complemented the academic curricula with a module of practical applications, which simulate existing automation projects on the market, integrates data obtained from sensors and provides statistical models. The ambient intelligence concept provides a vision of society of the future, where people will find themselves in an environment of intelligent and intuitively usable interfaces. The manuscript applies this definition to the specific environment of higher education in the context of the Czech Republic. The existence of the so-called Generation Y and characteristics of included individuals represent the main rationale of this paper. In particular sections of this paper, three visions that focus on intelligent assistance for graduation thesis preparation, smart lecture halls, and smart university campuses are described, and related architectures are depicted. Furthermore, results from a survey evaluating three main aspects - feasibility, willingness to use, and accessibility of technologies - of these visions are presented.
