“…To the authors' knowledge this is the first study to evaluate the effect of either anthelmintic treatment on the fecal microbiome of dogs. A recent pilot study identified a subtle effect on the gastrointestinal microbiome after administration of a single dose of moxidectin/praziquantel in horses [30]. Another study found alterations in the gastrointestinal microbiota in Amur tigers after they received tablets containing fenbendazole and ivermectin [31].…”
