“…The yields were not affected within the reaction time interval of 2-10 min. The results indicated that the derivatization rate of CEOC with amino acids was similar to that of FMOC or AEOC previously reported [16,19]. In addition, we believe that the monosubstituted form is significantly affected by the amount of CEOC added.…”

“…Data reported previously indicated that the reagent itself undergoes about 50% decomposition in methanol-water solution exposed to daylight within 25 min [15] and a large number of fluorescent components that eluted later than the derviative itself have been found. 2-(9-Fluorenyl)-ethyl chloroformate (FMOC) [16,17], 1-(9-fluorenyl)-ethyl chloroformate [18], and 2-(9-anthryl)-ethyl chloroformate (AEOC) [19] reagents have also been developed for the derivatization of amino acids and peptides for chiral or non-chiral separation in LC or CE. More recently, 6-aminoquinolyl-N-hydroxysuccinimidyl carbamate (AQC) has also been developed as a popular precolumn derivatization agent [20] for the determination of amino acids with satisfactory results.…”

“…The concentrations of total homocysteine and cysteine in the plasma and liver were measured by HPLC according to the method of Durand et al 14) The concentrations of S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) and S-adenosylhomocysteine (SAH) in the liver were measured by HPLC essentially according to the method of Cook et al 15) with slight modifications as described previously. 16) The activity of cystathionine -synthase (CBS) in the liver was measured according to the method of Mudd et al, 17) but using HPLC for the assay of the reaction product, cystathionine, according to the method of Einarsson et al 18) Protein was measured according to the method of Lowry et al, 19) using bovine serum albumin as the standard.…”
