The samples were pretreated by a quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged (QuEChERS) method. The ten pyrethroid insecticides were extracted from six kinds of edible mushrooms using acetonitrile and subsequently cleaned up by octadecylsilane (C18) or primary secondary amine (PSA). Instrumental analysis was completed in 16 min using gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). The overall average recoveries in the six kinds of edible mushrooms at three levels (10, 100 and 1000 μg kg −1) ranged from 72.8% to 103.6%. The intraday and interday relative standard deviations (RSD) were lower than 13.0%. The quantification limits were below 5.57 μg kg −1 in different matrices. The results demonstrated that the method is convenient for the quick detection of pyrethroid insecticides in edible mushrooms.

A reliable and efficient method was firstly established for the simultaneous determination of saflufenacil and its metabolites (M800H02, M800H11 and M800H35) in cereals (soybean and corn) and fruits (apple, grape and orange), based on a triple quadrupole liquid chromatography mass spectrometer. The four target compounds were extracted with acetonitrile and purified by Florisil or Florisil with octadecylsilane from the cereals and fruits. Determination of the targets was achieved within 3.5 min by using Shim‐pack GIST C18 column connected to an electrospray ionization source (ESI‐ mode). The method showed excellent linearity (R2 > 0.9984), and the limits of quantitation were 1 µg/kg for all compounds. Average recoveries were in the range of 74.6%–108.1%, with an intra‐day relative standard deviation between 0.9% and 18.3%. The inter‐day relative standard deviation was less than 13.8%. The results demonstrate that this method is convenient for monitoring the residues of saflufenacil and its metabolites in food matrices. Practical applications Saflufenacil controls many common annual broadleaf weed efficiently, it has been developed and launched into the market by domestic enterprises. Consequently, an analysis method for monitoring saflufenacil in food sample will be urgently needed in China over the next few years. This method provides separation with good specificity within 3.5 min, which is less than previous studies. For the five matrixes, the method presented satisfactory validation parameters in terms of good linearity, low limit of quantitations, and satisfactory accuracy and precision. Therefore, the method established in this study is a valuable tool to overcome gaps in determining saflufenacil and its metabolites in cereals and fruits, in order to accurate evaluation of risk and ensure food safety.

A modified quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) method for the simultaneous quantitative determination of flumetsulam in 20 kinds of complicated plant-derived food grains (rice, wheat, and corn), vegetables (cabbage, celery, tomato, kidney bean, eggplant, potato, radish and leek), fruits (apple, peach, grape and orange), edible mushroom (mushroom), tea (green tea), nuts (almond), oil crops (soybean) and edible oil (peanut oil) was developed and validated using ultra-performance LC coupled with MS/MS. Acetonitrile was the extraction solvent and simultaneous liquid-liquid partitioning was formed by adding anhydrous magnesium sulfate (MgSO 4 ) and sodium chloride (NaCl). The extract was then cleaned up by dispersive-SPE using graphitized carbon black (GCB), almond and peanut oil using Cleanert Florisil, as selective sorbents. The determination of the target compound was achieved in less than 6.0 min using an electrospray ionization source in positive mode (ESI+). Quantification was performed by calibration curves of standards from 0.01-1.0 mg L À1 with r 2 ¼ 0.999. Further optimization of sample preparation and determination achieved recoveries between 73.85% and 115.76% for all analytes with RSD values lower than 10% in 20 kinds of plant-derived foods at three levels (10, 50 and 100 mg kg À1 ).
