Determination of flumetsulam residues in 20 kinds of plant-derived foods by ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry

Abstract: A modified quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe (QuEChERS) method for the simultaneous quantitative determination of flumetsulam in 20 kinds of complicated plant-derived food grains (rice, wheat, and corn), vegetables (cabbage, celery, tomato, kidney bean, eggplant, potato, radish and leek), fruits (apple, peach, grape and orange), edible mushroom (mushroom), tea (green tea), nuts (almond), oil crops (soybean) and edible oil (peanut oil) was developed and validated using ultra-performance LC coupled… Show more

“…PSA can remove polar interfering substances from the extracts (e.g., polar pigments, organic acids, sugars, and fatty acids) (Jiang et al, 2017). MWCNTS has remarkable adsorption ability toward various impurities, such as pigments in green tea, fatty acids in grains, and other co‐extraction matrix interferences because of its large surface area and unique structure (Wang et al, 2015). C18 can effectively remove non‐polar organic impurities, such as fat and wax (Zhao et al, 2012).…”

“…GCB has a strong affinity toward planar molecule which makes it remove greatly pigments and sterols . Florisil is a coprecipitated mixture of silica gel and magnesia containing about 84.0% SiO 2 , 15.5% MgO and 0.5% Na 2 SO 4 and is used for adsorption grease . In the current study, PSA, C18, Florisil, GCB and their combination were compared for their influence on recovery in soil matrixes.…”

“…PSA can adsorb polar pigments, certain sugars, and fatty acids; C18 can remove the fat-soluble substances in the sample; orisil can remove some high lipid contents; GCB and MWCNT are able to retain pigments. 29,30 According to the EU SANTE/12682/2019 guidelines, recoveries should be within the range of 70-120% for all analytes. 18 Therefore, considering the satisfactory recoveries and purication, 25 mg orisil was applied to remove impurities in maize and soybean extractant.…”
