“…Tandem MS with multiple-reaction monitoring (MRM) mode usually has higher signal-to-noise ratio and then higher sensitivity, particularly when coupled to ultra-performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) able to provide high separation performance and to be used at high flow rate of mobile phase, the matrix effect would be significantly reduced and analysis speed increased (Churchwell et al, 2005). UPLC-MS/MS therefore possesses advantage of high sensitivity and high sample throughput over conventional LC-MS systems and is rapidly applied to analysis of pharmaceutical in biological samples (Kalovidouris et al, 2006;Wang et al, 2007;Sun et al, 2007;Ma et al, 2007;Chen et al, 2007). This paper describes for the first time a novel, selective and highly sensitive UPLC-MS/MS approach which enables rapid determination of lovastatin with good accuracy at low drug concentration in human plasma.…”

“…The method was applied for pharmacokinetic study of amlodipine. The amlodipine concentrations were determined in healthy volunteers' plasma who have taken two tablets of amlodipine containing 10 mg before and According to the author the run time was 3 min and the result was sensitive, accurate, and selective for amlodipine determination in human plasma [30]. Kasawar and Farooqui developed and validated new UPLC method for simultaneous determination of amlodipine besylate and benazepril hydrochloride in pharmaceutical dosage form.…”

“…Amlodipine besylate is official in IP [2] and BP [3] and Hydrochlorthiazide is official in IP [2], BP [3] and USP [4]. Literature survey revealed that various methods such as UV [9,10,15,16,19,20], HPLC [11,17], HPTLC [12,18], LC-MS/MS [13] and UPLC [14] are available in single and combination with other drugs. However, no spectrophotometric method has yet been reported for simultaneous estimation of amlodipine besylate, olmesartan medoxomil and hydrochlorthiazide in tablet dosage forms.…”
