“…Compensation affects employee performance (Anderson et al, 2018;Buachoom, 2017;Salisu et al, 2015). “…However, in this study, benefits, as part of the compensation dimension, did not affect job satisfaction. Industrial employees in Ethiopia are satisfied with the compensation payments they receive, which increases the performance of employees (Addis, Dvivedi, & Beshah, 2018). In addition, not only compensation satisfaction can have a broad impact on work behavior and quality of life of employees, but also financial benefits can be a critical factor for performance (Che Ahmat, Arendt, & Russell, 2019;Igalens & Roussel, 1999;Patiar & Wang, 2020;Syed, 2020).…”

“…The goodness-of-fit statistics of the current study's model were very good, suggesting a very good fit of data on the model. Apart from the above studies on nurses' behaviour, there are at least three studies that exclusively investigated nurses' turnover intentions (Alhamwan and Mat [34]; Alhamwan et al [51]; Simon, Müller, and Hasselhorn [79]), three other studies that exclusively explored nurses' job satisfaction (Sacks et al [21]; Liu et al [56]; Siddiqui [80]), and two additional studies that, respectively, examined therapists' job satisfaction (Smith-Randolph [71]) and employees' job satisfaction in the leather industry (Addis, Drivedi, and Beshah [81]). In addition, there are at least six studies that have dealt with the turnover intentions of employees (DeConinck and Stilwell [3]; Tekleab et al [48]; Khan et al, 2015 [50]; Currall et al [55]; Judge and Wellbourne [59]; Abouraia and Othman [82]) and one study on the turnover intentions of teachers (Addai et al [14]).…”

“…Secondly, this work examines the mechanism of associations among benefits and salary to work environment and job satisfaction. Herzberg's theory of motivation (1959), stated how hygiene and motivational factors influenced job satisfaction and also investigated by Addis, Dvivedi & Beshah (2018) as the theory has a gap of how the work environment mediates the relationship between constructs. Hence, this study elaborates on the mediating role of work environment.…”
