“…In the recent AMBRE study conducted in France in 366 treatment-seeking subjects with OUD, approximately one-third of the recruited sample consisted of incarcerated people. 25 This study found no difference in the number of people interested in being treated with XR-BUP between incarcerated and non-incarcerated participants. Nonetheless, respondents that reported experiencing situations in which taking their MOUD was impractical were significantly more interested in XR-BUP.…”

“… 4 , 24 However, because some people with OUD were concerned about the concept of XR-BUP and more precisely with respect to a possible limitation of freedom and coercive treatment, 12 , 13 it was important to address whether incarcerated people with OUD were ready to try XR-BUP or reluctant to receive it, and what could be the factors of interest and the expectations about these new formulations. In the main results of the AMBRE survey, which were previously published in the parent study, 25 it was found that a majority of the participants was interested in the principle of XR-BUP, and that the average level of interest was similar in incarcerated and non-incarcerated interviewees. However, we did not explore whether the factors of interest and expectations about XR-BUP were different.…”

“…These data are in agreement with those reported in other studies about the perception of PRB by patients with OUD. In a French study on 357 patients, the mean interest in PRB was 6.2 out of 10 [30]. In another study conducted in Australia, 68% of the total sample (n = 402) thought that PRB would be a good treatment option for OUD, and 84.86% of patients who declared the preference on frequency of administration said that they would prefer the monthly administration [31].…”

“…Por otra parte, este proyecto tiene una serie de limitaciones que se deben tener en cuenta. En el estudio se ha empleado un cuestionario diseñado de forma específica para este estudio basado en el publicado por Rolland et al (2021). No se consideraron otros cuestionarios validados como el de Pérez de los Cobos et al ( 2020) debido a que es una población muy compleja y entendiendo por parte de los autores que un cuestionario con diseño específico podría captar mejor la información de estudio.…”
