Detection of microvesicle miRNA expression in ALL subtypes and analysis of their functional roles

Abstract: Microvesicles (MVs) are the heterogeneous mixtures of vesicles. MVs released by leukemia cells constitute an important part of the leukemia microenvironment. MVs might act as important reservoirs of microRNAs (miRNAs). It is worth evaluating whether MVs possess some unique miRNA contents that are valuable in understanding the pathogenesis. In this study, we investigated the miRNA expression patterns of Nalm-6-derived MVs, Jurkat-derived MVs and normal cell-derived MVs using miRNA microarrays. The potential tar… Show more

“…ALL is also the hematology neoplasia most commonly observed in the pediatric population, while it is relatively less common than AML in adults [36]. Around 75% of childhood ALL cases contain at least one alteration chromosomic, have lymphoid maturation arrest in distinct stages, and involve B-or T-lineages to leaving different immunophenotypes with different miRNA signatures [37]. microRNAs participate in different physiological and cellular processes, such as development and tissue differentiation, cell identity, cell cycle progression, and programmed cell death [38].…”

“…ALL is a lymphoid malignancy, and around three quarters of childhood ALL cases contain one or more total alterations of chromosome, and it may involve B- or T- lineages and have lymphoid maturation arrest in distinct stages, leaving different immunophenotypes with different miRNA signatures. 53 57 So, these signatures can help the diagnosis and classification diagnosis of ALL. Compared with normal pediatric BM samples, miRNA-100, miRNA-196b, and let-7e were expressed at a lower level in BM samples of pediatric ALL, while miRNA-128a and miRNA-181b were overexpressed.…”
