“…The achieved data revealed good agreement with those obtained by IC technique, thus demonstrating the huge potential of ME‐C 4 D devices for quantitative analysis. In addition to the LOD, it is important to note that the proposed methodology is faster and cheaper than most of the standard approaches including IC , capillary electrophoresis , and Raman spectroscopy . Considering the achieved results, the method reported herein demonstrated to be quite effective to detect and quantify anionic species in real samples collected from ATM and safe explosions.…”

“…The limit of detection (LOD) for chloride, nitrate, sulfate, chlorate, perchlorate and nitrite was estimated based on the signal‐to‐noise ratio equal to 3 and the achieved values were 3.8, 4.3, 2.5, 7.3, 6.1 and 9.5 μmol/L, respectively. When compared to conventional techniques including IC , capillary electrophoresis , and Raman spectroscopy , the LOD values obtained using ME‐C 4 D devices are greater. The data achieved were also compared to other reports found in the literature exploiting electrophoresis microchips coupled with conductivity detection in both contactless and contact modes.…”

“…Poppi and co-workers 157,158 published two studies for the identification of explosive traces in banknotes using the same Raman imaging instrument (laser excitation 785 nm). In the first, 157 they developed the methodology for the identification of pre-blast traces of eight explosives (three military, four commercial and one propellant) on banknotes. They also analyzed different concentrations of trinitrotoluene (TNT), for investigating detection limits.…”
