Detection of Immune Anti-A and Anti-B Alio-Antibodies with Groupamatic® System

“…The ratio of potentially dangerous donors in case of non-isogroup transfusion is 2.86% of the total number of screened donors. This detection is performed simultaneously with other immunohaematological and serological tests: ABO and Rh grouping, screening of irregular allo-antibodies, screening of syphilis.All immunohaematological tests concerning voluntary donors of the CNTS are performed on two Groupamatic® [4][5][6][7], We thus found it necessary to extend the automation up to the screening of so-called 'dangerous' donors whose blood units may not be transfused in an iso group fashion. This screening used to be made manually on all group O donors by a haemolytic test of Ax and B cells in presence of human complement, following the technique described by Mollison [8].…”
