This study aims to examine the recognition of the Meranti Island community for cultural values and explore several factors that influence the sustainable development of the traditional sports of tual sagu and golek sagu. The traditional sports of tual sagu and golek sagu are traditional sports typical of the Meranti Islands which until now need to get more attention from the local government. The traditional sports of tual sagu and golek sagu are not just entertainment and sports media, but more than that, these traditional sports are a local cultural heritage. Therefore, the government must carry out activities to optimize growth, such as facilities, infrastructure, and infrastructure to support the development of traditional sports. Participants involved in this study amounted to 10 respondents. Respondents are key informants who understand the object of the research. These informants include stakeholders, community leaders, sports activists, and observers of sustainable development. This study uses qualitative descriptions, interviews, and observations as the basis of the research method. Data is analyzed by word cloud analysis. The results of the study show that the three goals of sustainable development, namely media, resources, and sports facilities have a significant role in the development of traditional sports. Meanwhile, the factors that have a significant influence on the sustainability of the traditional sports development of tual sagu and golek sagu are infrastructure, such as ports, sports centers, and traditional sports venues as well as events and promotions, which are determining factors for the success of developing sustainable traditional sports in the Meranti Islands.

Winter sports, which are evaluated within the scope of recreational tourism, have an important place in Turkey's tourism offer. However, the problems related to the establishment locations of ski centers cause inefficiency in winter sports. This case limits recreational tourism activities and causes negative situations to arise in terms of the provinces' future position where ski centers have been established. This situation, encountered in many provinces of Turkey, is also existing for Van Abalı Ski Center and Bitlis Nemrut Kardelen Ski Center. The efficiency problems of these ski centers arising from the choice of location are the subject of this study. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to present to all stakeholders the fact that the problems caused by the incorrect choice of location of the ski centers affect the environmental problems, especially economic losses, and potential winter sports investments.This study was produced as part of a master's thesis on the winter tourism potential of Van and Bitlis provinces and focused on the accuracy and efficiency of the location selection of the ski centers in the research area. Field observations were carried out for 3 seasons with subject matter experts in order to determine the location characteristics of the ski resorts. In this context, an interview consisting of six questions was conducted primarily with subject matter experts and business managers in order to show whether the location choices are correct and businesses work efficiently. In addition, three questions of a survey consisting of 23 questions applied in the master's thesis were used for this study to support fieldwork and interviews. The overall result from all these data collection tools demonstrated that the location choices of Abalı and Nemrut Kardelen Ski resorts were incorrect. For this reason, some years skiing cannot be done for a whole season (2018)(2019), while in some years only skiing can be done for a very limited period of time. Undoubtedly, this situation both cannot meet the recreational activity needs of the people living in the region and stands as a major obstacle to possible winter tourism investments in the region.

Introduction. Numerous international and local organisations and agencies have in the past 15 years dealt with various issues and problems related to tourism in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Often, they have accentuated the large potential for tourism development and improvement, particularly when it comes to spa tourism. Although all elements necessary for development (tradition, accommodation capacities, natural resources, and traffic connections) are present, the "Banja Vrućica" spa is still unable to respond to modern tourism market demands so that it can contribute to the economic growth and development in the national and local economies. The successful running of a tourist destination requires the formulation of long-term goals and decisions, reached through a process of strategic management. The aim of this article is to use strategic analysis as a means of identifying the possibilities of introducing new sport-recreational offers with a higher quality of service provision aligned with consumer needs, which would help the Vrućica spa to become more attractive and profitable. Material and methods. After selecting factors of the internal and external environment which influence sport tourism at the spa, the intensity of the impact of each factor was determined through the use of SWOT analysis. Then, by multiplying the average impact of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats matched in the SWOT Matrix, a polygon SWOT analysis of the strategy was carried out. Conclusion. Having analysed the "Banja Vrućica" spa's environment and having quantified the results, we reached the conclusion that the best solution is to form and implement a WO strategy with regard to sport tourism at the spa, meaning a shift in strategy aimed at keeping the existing activities and structures and developing new products and a new approach to the market.
