Designing organizational structures of production systems using a process-oriented approach

Abstract

This paper discusses a process-oriented approach for designing organizational structures of production systems. Based on a suitable characterization of order related processes on one hand, and the personneion the other hand, organizational structures with a high performance can be defined. Tbe concept of shaping process-oriented organizational structures is connected to a simulation-aided approach in order to evaluate the dynamic behavior of planned production systems and to perform the planning procedure in a flexible and efficient way. Tbe dynamic analyses are carried out using the simulation tool FEMOS.
