Designing of a system model for web 3D disabled access GIS on web 2.0

Abstract: This paper aims to propose our study of system model design for a Web 3D disabled access GIS. The disabled access GIS provides the disabled with information on barriers and barrier-free modifications in consideration of their abilities and psychologies. We model the system for web-based accesses. It enhances its reusability and mash-up capability. Our model clearly divides database access, server-side service and client-side user interface. We implemented desktop client and mobile phone client to examine the m… Show more

“…Izumi et al research proposed an optimal route finding method taking into account not only the physical burden, but also the psychological aspect [6]. The research also included the development of a threedimensional barrier-free map that can run on the browser and show a 3D animation of a person on a wheelchair moving through the optimal path [7].…”

“…The data used in this model appears to be more personalized than the data in previous approaches, suggesting a possible shift to an individual, qualitative approach. Although not stated, many of the above studies (see Suxia 2004, Sobeck et al 2006, Beale et al 2006, Yari et al 2007and Izumi et al 2009) are also aligned with the medical model o f (dis)Ability, which views (dis)Ability as merely an individual issue in need o f a solution.…”
