Designing a Specialized Devices for Correction of the Axis Deviation at the Human Leg

Abstract: The presented article is an original contribution which implies the design of a specialized device for high tybial osteotomy (HTO) optimization. In the papers are presented the sources that imply HTO, the axial deviations of the human lower member from the correct position. This sources are the gonarthosys owed to the usage of the knees cartilages or owed to some diseases (such as the Blount disease) and the vicious consolidated fractures. After presenting the needs to realize such a specialized device for HTO… Show more

“…The computer-assisted 3D human bones modelling is a very frequent method while elaborating biomechanical and bioengineering researches [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Developing the 3D models for the human lower limb assure good premises regarding the comprehension of the shape and kinematics of these complex geometric structures, biomechanical analyses of the human 3D foot assembly, for healthy subjects and for pathological conditions as well, alongside with virtual surgeries simulations [4][5][6][7].…”

These specific methods allow elaborating studies and further design of specialized devices, used within surgeries [1][2][3]8]. The present paper fits within this context, being focused on the human femur 3D modelling.…”

“…1. Mechanical axis (aligned and deviated) of the human's lower member [1,5] High Tibial Osteotomy imply creating a cut in the shape of a wedge on the lateral or median surface of the tibia and perform a rotation movement which will realign the leg's mechanical axis. In consequence, a normal load on the leg's joint will be displaced with diminished tensions on the affected area.…”
