Design of Teaching Material for Problem-Based Learning to Improve Creative Thinking Skills

Abstract: resource that can be used as a tool to improve the process of creative thinking is a module. This study aims to design a mathematical module based on the Problem-Based Learning model to improve students' creative thinking abilities. This research uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection instruments include validation guidelines and observation guidelines. Observation guidelines are used to identify the appropriate module criteria. Validation guidelines are used to validate module design by experts. Data w… Show more

“…Moreover, Buchori and Cintang (2018) and Ibrahim and Widodo (2020) demonstrated that specific teaching models and approaches, such as the Powtoon-assisted group-to-group exchange model and the advocacy approach with open-ended problems, can improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. Rahman et al (2020) also emphasized that students with low creative thinking skills may have difficulty solving complex mathematical problems. Furthermore, Qadri and Ikhsan (2019) International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematics Education suggested that students still encounter problems in resolving math questions related to mathematical creative thinking ability, which impacts their overall ability in this area.…”

“…In many studies on the application of learning models, learning approaches, learning strategies, and learning media, researchers report a lot of creative thinking ability test results. Several studies were also conducted to improve creative thinking skills, such as developing problem-solving-based teaching materials to improve creative thinking [29], implementing e-learning to improve creative thinking [30], applying the STEM learning approach to improve creative thinking [31]- [33], using technology as a learning medium to improve creative thinking [34]- [36], applying the creative responsibility-based teaching learning model to students' creativity [37], innovating the STEM approach in learning media to improve creative thinking [12], applying problem-based learning models to improve creative thinking [38]- [40], to utilizing Android-based learning multimedia to improve creative thinking [41].…”
