“…The axial positions were occupied by the outer nitrogen atoms of tpyO (N21 and N31) while the middle nitrogen atom from terpyridine motif and the oxygen atom from acetate as well as the oxygen atom from aqua occupied the equatorial positions (ZnN 3 O 2 ). We have already reported that the reaction of zinc(II) acetate with tpyOH in a methanol–CH 2 Cl 2 solution and crystallization from methanol–hexane led to the synthesis of a coordination polymer of [Zn(tpyO)(η 1 ‐OCOCH 3 )] in which zinc is penta‐coordinated in a square pyramidal geometry by three nitrogen atoms from tridentate tpyO, monodentate acetate group and an oxygen from the neighbouring tpyO . Therefore, it can be seen that the solvent‐induced coordination environment of Zn allows the formation of various coordination polymers.…”
