Coronavirus is spreading an outbreak in the world and the medical staffs have been coming under further strain with increasing in patients referring to the hospital. Real-time health monitoring systems play a critical role in prevention, control the pandemic disease, and enhance the entire health care service delivery in real-time, and influence on visiting the hospital visiting the hospital. In this paper, a hierarchical architecture for the Internet of Things is improved using resource and task management techniques for reducing emergency response time and enhanced the patients’ quality of experiences considering energy consumption, network delay, cost of execution in the cloud and network usage. In this proposed scenario, the task is divided into subtasks and processes depending on their functions with different execution times. This method also has led to improving the fog architecture. This proposed method is modeled are evaluated in terms of the specified parameters, using the iFogsim toolkit. The results showed an improvement of 80 percent in their parameters such as cost of execution, total network usage, and average delays, compared to the cloud and other common architecture.

Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have attracted a lot of attention from the research community and industry in recent years. WSNs maintenance associated with battery replacement can increase system operating costs, especially for wireless sensor networks located in hard-to-reach and dangerous places. In this study, an adaptive Medium Access Control (MAC) is proposed that can regulate the period of data acquisition and transmission. In contrast to conventional MAC, the applied adaptive MAC regulates the data transmission period based on the estimated energy use in the previous cycle. This study focuses on comparing energy efficiency between conventional and adaptive MAC. Energy usage information is retrieved directly on the sensor node. In star topology, the proposed MAC can increase the lifetime of the sensor network up to 6.67% in a star topology. In the hierarchical topology, the proposed MAC can increase network energy efficiency up to 9.17%. The resulting increase in network throughput is 17.73% for the Star network and 33.81% for the Hierarchy network. The star topology without implementing adaptive MAC has the lowest throughput of 0.188 kb/s. The highest throughput is achieved by a hierarchical topology that applies MAC with a throughput of 2.157 kb/s.

Considering the day by day rapid increase in the population of the world, providing appropriate healthcare to elderly or unwell people becomes a crucial issue and needs high attention from mainly medical, also industrial and academic fields of the society. Nowadays on the Internet of Things (IoT), there is extensive research on finding the solution for improving the quality of life of the people. In this Project we are presenting a prototype of a health monitoring system which is based on IoT and makes use of wearable sensors, thereby providing remote and continuous monitoring of a patient’s health. The system continuously monitors the patient’s heartbeat, temperature and medicines consumed, by using a web application. Various sensors will be used such as heartbeat sensor and temperature sensor for patients as well as load sensor to get data about how many medicines patient have and when to refill the medicine box. Based on the values acquired from temperature and heartbeat sensor predictions are given about the patient’s condition. All sensors will be communicating with an application through a remote web server where all data will be hosted using IoT protocols.
