Design of Internet of Things Based Air Pollution Monitoring System Using ThingSpeak and Blynk Application

Abstract: This paper presents the design of an IoT based air pollution monitoring system to measure carbon dioxide gas, butane gas, humidity and temperature. The hardware consists of MQ-2 gas sensor, ESP8266 Wi-Fi module, DHT22 temperature and humidity sensors. Meanwhile, the software used in this prototype is the Arduino Integrated Development Environment (IDE) written in function C and C++. The monitoring system indicate air quality is below than 100 AQI for safety air quality and more than 200 AQI for hazardous air q… Show more

“…With this tool, measurement of chimney factory emissions can be carried out continuously at a relatively low cost, so that the ministerial regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry number 13 of 2021 can be fulfilled. Kumar & Sasikala [14] mention that this proposed prototype model incorporates an open-source cloud facility with Arduino for air quality monitoring, confirming low cost, comfort, and convenience for a customizable air quality monitoring system [17][18][19][20].…”

“…The sensor data collected in each channel contains 8 fields that can accommodate different types of data, one status field and three site fields. Apps like TimeControl (automatically perform actions at predefined times using ThingSpeak app), TweetControl (Twitter listening and real-time interaction), React (react when channel data is compatible with certain conditions), TalkBack Reaction Measurement (Murad, Bakar, Azizan, & Shukri, 2021).…”
