Design of an Interactive Two-Way Telemedicine Service System for Smart Home Care for the Elderly

Abstract: In this paper, we deeply analyse and study the interactive telemedicine service system for elderly care in smart homes and design a data summarization method for large concurrent scenarios. The method first parses and reconstructs the data received by the system initially and then stores the reconstructed valid data into the local database, which realizes the fast data summarization under the heavy concurrency scenario. Secondly, a multiformat data adaptation method is designed for the problem that the data to… Show more

“…Te collected data are then processed in the cloud, and depending on the result, doctors can prescribe or assist the patient through audio, video, or text messages. Te researchers in [133,139] designed a two-way telemedicine interaction system that allows simultaneous communication between the elderly and a physician. An IoT-based elderly care system has been proposed in [79] that uses AI for voice recognition and ofers wireless appliance switching as well as home monitoring and intrusion alert.…”

“…The elderly can use smart home devices for remote consultation, remote diagnosis, remote monitoring, and other services to facilitate their access to medical services at home and reduce the time and cost of travelling to and from the hospital. At the same time, smart home devices also allow doctors to keep track of the health status of older adults and make timely adjustments and treatments [56].…”

“…Continual addressing of patient concerns fosters an environment that embraces digital health innovations, prioritizing patient safety, privacy, and satisfaction. In the context of e-consultation, reliable internet connectivity stands as a pivotal factor for seamless communication between medical practitioners and patients [28,29]. The robustness of the internet connection significantly influences users' perceived quality of the system, service, and information they interact with.…”
