Design of an in-phase/anti-phase triple-feed array antenna using two types of magic-Ts

Abstract: An in-phase/anti-phase triple-feed array antenna employing two types of magic-Ts is proposed. The proposed array antenna effectively provides three radiation patterns in both E-and H-planes with a simple structure. In this paper, design and operating principles of the proposed array antenna is presented with simulation results to highlight its features. The proposed array antenna can be used for many kinds of advanced antennas such as direction-of-arrival estimation antennas, beam steering antennas and wide-an… Show more

“…Microwave hybrid is one of the essential components in many wireless applications, and used in microwave circuits and advanced antennas such as phase shifters [1], balanced mixers [2,3], power dividers [4,5] and beam steering antennas [6,7,8,9,10,11,12]. Magic-Ts are well known as a 180 • hybrid, which acts as an in-phase/anti-phase power combiner/divider.…”
