Abstract:In this paper, a weathercock‐shaped microstrip patch antenna for application in a Hiper‐LAN is designed and fabricated. To obtain sufficient bandwidth when VSWR < 2, the T‐slot is inserted in the patch and a coaxial‐probe source is used. The measured result of the fabricated antenna is 350 MHz or about 7.62% bandwidth when VSWR < 2, referenced to the center frequency, with gain of 5.25–6.70 dBi.
