This article describes the phenomena affecting the wear of the rotor of the working mechanism in a hydraulic satellite motor. The basic geometrical relationships that allow the calculation of the coordinates of the points of contact between the satellite and the rotor and the curvature are presented. A method for calculating the number of contacts of the satellite teeth with the rotor teeth and of the satellite teeth with the curvature teeth during one revolution of the rotor is proposed. A method of calculating the forces acting at the points of contact of the satellite with the rotor and the curvature is also proposed, as well as a method of calculating the stress in the tooth contact of the interacting components of the mechanism. The results of calculations of forces and stresses in tooth contact in a satellite mechanism consisting of a four-hump rotor and a six-hump curvature are presented. It is shown that the two chambers around the satellite are in the same phase in a certain range of the rotation angle of the rotor, i.e. in the emptying phase or in the filling phase. This results in the value of the force acting on the satellite resulting from the pressure difference being zero. It has also been shown that the most important parameters affecting tooth wear are the pressure difference in the working chambers of the satellite mechanism and the rotor speed.

The design of a double arc pitch curve is a new non-circular gear tooth construction method. Compared with the higher-order elliptic method, although the double arc method has the advantage of low manufacturing difficulty, the problem, in the process of designing the double arc pitch curve for solving the number of teeth is non-integer teeth trade-off problem and nonlinear model solving the solution is local convergence, has not been solved. Based on the meshing characteristics of the gear in the limit position of the double arc method and the theory of the surface's relative curvature consistency, the pitch curve's characteristic parameters are selected actively. To avoid the design difficulties y1 and y2 of the numerical solution instability, the most optimal parameter solutions are obtained by evaluating the distribution characteristics of the keys of the nonlinear system of equations. They use orthogonal tests to determine the ideal tooth combinations; tooth profiles of non-circular gears are built based on the constructed tooth rounding handling rules. Trial manufacturing and hydraulic loading tests reveal that the product’s torque at the rated speed is around 2% higher than that of the foreign prototype.

A RV cycloid planetary reducer used in the excavator chassis is studied. A contact model based on impulse function is proposed to define the constraint between the contact parts during the working condition. The contact parameters in the contact model includes: Contact stiffness, index of force, damped coefficient and depth of penetration. Among them the unique undetermined one is contact stiffness, which is studied under two working conditions. These conditions are Convex-Convex Contact (pin-top of cycloid) and Convex-Concave Contact (pin-dedendum of cycloid). Analysis of the contact parameters indicates that the contact stiffness is affected by the contact thickness. The performance of the reducer part material must satisfy these parameters. Then a dynamic model of the RV cycloid planetary reducer is built, in which the contact force model is utilized to realize the constraint of pin-cycloid wheel, planetary wheel-sun wheel. The simulate results of idle load and full load indicate that the deviation of output draft angular velocity between simulation and theoretical is 0.83%. The work envelope of the center of the cycloid mass is a circle, and the circle radius is eccentric distance of the two cycloids. The simulation of contact moment between the pins and cycloid reveals only six contacts exist at any instant, and the maximum moment appears at the middle contact pair. This contact constraint model can be used to direct the machining of the wheels and the process of reducer assembly.
