Design of a fuzzy model that integrates hygiene, safety, and environment systems for the assessment of the overall risk of machines

Abstract: The hygiene, safety, and environment risk assessment is becoming a major challenge for companies in the area of security. It constitutes a precondition in the definition of the strategy to be adopted. The vagueness, uncertainty of input parameters, disputes over opinions between decision-makers, and the absence of integrated models of overall hygiene, safety, and environment risk assessment constitute a handicap in the assessment of risks' acceptability. In this article, we propose an integrated model based on… Show more

“…This technique deals with both digital and linguistic data and formalizes and analyses human qualitative knowledge; therefore, it is capable of providing quick and interpretable solutions. Fuzzy inference system contains four main phases: 19 Step 1 (fuzzification): It is a process in which the input data are converted into linguistic variables. This process is fulfilled with the aid of a function.…”

“…At the present time, fuzzy logic arouses a general interest on the part of all those who feel the need to formalize empirical methods, to generalize natural modes of reasoning, to automate decision-making in their field, or to construct artificial systems performing the same functions. Tasks are usually supported by humans [6].…”

“…Let us insist here that fuzzy logic is the only framework in which uncertainties "that cannot be handled by statistical models or methods" and inaccuracies "that cannot be treated by statistical models" can be treated and also authorize the No treatment of certain incompleteness. It is also the only framework in which digital knowledge symbolically expressed by natural language skills can be processed [6].…”

“…Risk management is a complex task, especially in production supply chains (PSCs), and it includes the identification of RFs, the analysis and the assessment of risk, and the determination of activities which should lead to risk value reduction [5][6][7]. The determination of appropriate management initiatives for risk value reduction has been considered from various aspects, which are briefly described in the following text.…”
