Design and Performance Analysis of a New Multiresolution <inline-formula> <tex-math notation="LaTeX">$M$</tex-math></inline-formula>-Ary Differential Chaos Shift Keying Communication System

Abstract: A new multiresolution (MR) M-ary differential chaos shift keying (DCSK) modulation scheme is proposed in this paper. It is a promising technique to provide different quality of services (QoS) for transmitted bits within a symbol according to their different bit error rate (BER) requirements based on the principle of non-uniformly spaced constellations. The new system not only is simple, but also provides better anti-multipath fading performance against various spreading factors, which inherits the advantages o… Show more

“…The results in (e) for 4 paths is better because the first path is clearly dominant with a high LOS component. Note how the simplified bound (33), generalized to L > 2 paths, follows the detected trends, confirming that it can be useful in the appropriate regions of interest.…”

“…Note that, again, the numerical evaluation of the analytical BER captures the behavior of the experimental data: the advantage of the former from the point of view of the analysis and design is that the calculations involved are less time and resource consuming than the ones usually devoted to a standard simulation. Regarding the simplified bound (33), it keeps its mentioned relative tightness within the mentioned E b /N 0 -BER limits. (a)).…”

“…Compared to QCSK, the proposed OCVSK increases data transmission rates with greatly improved robustness. Recently, L. Wang et al proposed in [180] a new multiresolution (MR) M -ary differential chaos shift keying (DCSK) modulation scheme as extension to the QCSK scheme. The authors showed in this work that this new system provides better anti-multipath fading performance against various spreading factors, which inherits the advantages of the conventional DCSK system.…”

“…Starting by the early work of [20] in which a quadratic chaos shift keying QCSK is proposed, which uses the Hilbert transform to generate orthogonal bases of chaotic functions in order to allow the transmission of more bits with respect to conventional DCSK while demanding an equal amount of bandwidth and finishing by the multi-resolution M-ary DCSK scheme of [21], there has been a series of serious efforts to outstrip the shortages of DCSK.…”
