Design and Measurement of a Vibrating Intrinsic Reverberation Chamber Working in Tuned Mode

Abstract: In this letter, a vibrating intrinsic reverberation chamber (VIRC) working in mode tuning is designed and fabricated; the designed RC is made of a highly electrically conductive silver fabric. A stepper motor is used to tune the cavity surface step by step along its normal direction, and an RC with vibrating wall is realized. The corresponding relationship between the vibrating amplitude and frequency of use is calculated. A test system is developed and the performance of VIRC is experimentally verified. Measu… Show more

“…In recent studies, different VIRCs have been investigated in terms of various EMC and OTA characteristics [107,108,[171][172][173][174][175][176][177]. However, these characteristics are either individually investigated using different VIRC frameworks or not estimated following a VIRC systematic methodology.…”

“…The investigation of the VIRC has been conducted in several studies in terms of various characteristics [107,108,[171][172][173][174][175][176][177]: field uniformity, lowest usable frequency, field statistical distribution, Q-factor, Rician K -factor, frequency autocorrelation function, average mode bandwidth, time autocorrelation function, decorrelation time, and number of collectable independent samples. However, the aforementioned work in the literature concerning the VIRC has-at least-one of the following drawbacks.…”
