The traditional expert system (TES) in the medical field commonly uses a certainty factor (CF) rule-based algorithm that can be calculated several symptoms to determine the inference solutions. The main issue for this TES included a prediction for some particular disease likelihood in the cases of new patients. CF is calculated based on symptoms related to clinical signs in patients’ diagnoses. For some reason, this TES probably won’t predict uncertain things, such as particular disease likelihood of some diseases. So, supervised learning, such as linear regression, can solve this problem. We tried to analyse the existing TES for thyroid disorders due to modelling the regression equation to predict the thyroid abnormality particular disease likelihood, based on the symptoms’ CF value and its confidence level. We used multiple linear regression (MLR) and multiple polynomial regression (MPR) to analyse the best regression model to solve the problem. The results show that the MPR model indicates the best regression model for predicting particular disease likelihood of thyroid abnormality, supported by R-squared 94.7%, R-squared adjusted 94.4%, F-value 265.925, and p-value < 0.05, which are higher than MLR model. Our study proposed a foundation for expert system development by focusing more on machine learning expert system (MLES) analysis approaches than TES.

Tephrosia vogelii Hook.f. is a species of the family Fabaceae (Leguminoceae). These plants are termed ″Polong-polongan″ in Indonesia, and are known to contain active flavonoid groups. Previous studies have shown the isolation of one known flavanone: isolonchocarpin from methanol extract, and the structure obtained was established based on chemical evidence as well as spectroscopic methods, including NMR, and also by a comparison with published data. This research is aimed at evaluating the cytotoxic property of methanol extract against larvae of Arthemia salina Leach, using the Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method. The results show potent cytotoxicity at LC50 of 41.40 ppm.

Abstract In this research, acombination biopesticide, a combination biopesticide from Tephrosia vogelii leaves and Cymbopogon nardus leaves has been made as an exterminator of golden snail in rice plants. The golden snail is one of the plant pest organism in rice plants which are capable of damaging plant in a short time. This study aim to determine the efficacy of a combination biopesticide of a mixture of T. vogelii leaves extract, C nardus leaves and kitosan as golden snail pest exterminators in rice plants. Three types of variance were used, namely formula I (1:1:1), II (1:2:1) and III (2:1:1) from the mixture of T. vogelii leaves extract, C nardus leaves powder and chitosan. From the test results obtained the fastest inial death time were formulation I (24.49 hours), LC50 of 10,60 g/kg which mildly toxic, 100 % daily mortaly in formulation III (day 5) and the fastest efficacy in formulation III were 38.89 % (day 2). Keong mas merupakan salah satu organisme pengganggu tumbuhan pada tanaman padi yang mampu merusak tanaman dalam waktu cepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efikasi biopestisida kombinasi dari campuran ekstrak daun kacang babi, daun serai wangi dan kitosan sebagai pembasmi hama keong mas pada tanaman padi. Digunakan tiga jenis variansi yaitu formula I (1:1:1), II (1:2:1) dan III (2:1:1) dari campuran ekstrak daun kacang babi , serbuk daun serai wangi dan kitosan. Dari hasil pengujian diperoleh waktu awal kematian tercepat yaitu formula I (24,49 jam), LC50 sebesar 10,60 g/kg yang bersifat tosik ringan, mortalitas harian 100 % pada formula III (hari ke-5) dan rfikasi tercepat pada formula III yaitu 38,89 %(hari ke-2).
