Internet of Things (IoT) menghubungkan berbagai jenis perangkat ke internet, menciptakan sistem yang cerdas dan terintegrasi. Namun, keamanan menjadi tantangan yang signifikan dalam pengembangan IoT, karena perangkat yang terhubung ke internet rentan terhadap serangan cyber. Untuk mengatasi masalah keamanan pada IoT, skema otentikasi menjadi salah satu solusi yang penting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan skema otentikasi ringan menggunakan enkripsi RSA untuk perangkat IoT. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimental, dengan mengembangkan dan menguji implementasi skema otentikasi pada perangkat IoT. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer dari pengujian implementasi skema otentikasi pada perangkat IoT. Hasil pengujian implementasi skema otentikasi menunjukkan bahwa skema ini dapat memberikan tingkat keamanan yang memadai untuk perangkat IoT dengan overhead yang rendah. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah skema otentikasi ringan menggunakan enkripsi RSA dapat menjadi solusi yang efektif untuk meningkatkan keamanan pada perangkat IoT. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi untuk pengembangan teknologi IoT dengan menawarkan skema otentikasi yang aman dan efisien untuk perangkat IoT.

An Indoor Location-Based Augmented Reality Framework

This paper proposes an indoor location-based augmented reality framework (ILARF) for the development of indoor augmented-reality (AR) systems. ILARF integrates an indoor localization unit (ILU), a secure context-aware message exchange unit (SCAMEU), and an AR visualization and interaction unit (ARVIU). The ILU runs on a mobile device such as a smartphone and utilizes visible markers (e.g., images and text), invisible markers (e.g., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy, and NFC signals), and device sensors (e.g., accelerometers, gyroscopes, and magnetometers) to determine the device location and direction. The SCAMEU utilizes a message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT) server to exchange ambient sensor data (e.g., temperature, light, and humidity readings) and user data (e.g., user location and user speed) for context-awareness. The unit also employs a web server to manage user profiles and settings. The ARVIU uses AR creation tools to handle user interaction and display context-aware information in appropriate areas of the device’s screen. One prototype AR app for use in gyms, Gym Augmented Reality (GAR), was developed based on ILARF. Users can register their profiles and configure settings when using GAR to visit a gym. Then, GAR can help users locate appropriate gym equipment based on their workout programs or favorite exercise specified in their profiles. GAR provides instructions on how to properly use the gym equipment and also makes it possible for gym users to socialize with each other, which may motivate them to go to the gym regularly. GAR is compared with other related AR systems. The comparison shows that GAR is superior to others by virtue of its use of ILARF; specifically, it provides more information, such as user location and direction, and has more desirable properties, such as secure communication and a 3D graphical user interface.

Design and Evaluation of the Compact and Autonomous Energy Subsystem of a Wave Energy Converter

This paper presents the results of the design process focused on the development of the energy subsystem (ES) of a wave energy converter (WEC). The ES is an important electrical part that significantly affects the energy reliability and energy efficiency of the entire WEC device. The designed ES was intended for compact WECs powering IoT network devices working in the distributed grid. The developed ES is an electronic circuit consisting of three cooperating subsystems used for energy conversion, energy storage, and energy management. The energy conversion subsystem was implemented as a set of single-phase bridge rectifiers. The energy storage subsystem was a battery-less implementation based on the capacitors. The energy management subsystem was implemented as a supervisory circuit and boost converter assembly. The designed ES was verified using the physical experiment method. The model experiment reflected the operation of the designed ES with a piezoelectric PZT-based WEC. The experimental results showed a 41.5% surplus of the energy supplied by ES over the energy demanded by the considered load at a duty cycle of ca. 6 min—37.2 mJ over 26.3 mJ, respectively. The obtained results have been evaluated and discussed. The results confirmed the designed ES as a convenient solution, which makes a significant contribution to the compact WECs that can be applied among others to a distributed grid of autonomous IoT network devices powered by free and renewable energy of sea waves. Finally, it will also enable sustainable development of mobile and wireless communication in those maritime areas where other forms of renewable energy may not be available.
