Günümüz akıllı evlerinde IoT (Internet of Things) teknolojisinin alt yapısı kullanılmaktadır. Akıllı evlerin kullanımı arttıkça bu alandaki siber saldırılar da artmaktadır. Akıllı evlere yönelik siber saldırıları mümkün olduğunca erken tespit etmek ve önlemek çok önemlidir. Bu çalışmada, akıllı evlere yönelik siber saldırıları tespit etmek ve önlemek için makine öğrenmesi tabanlı bir yöntem önerilmiştir. Öncelikle “Home Assistant” teknolojisini kullanarak akıllı ev platformu oluşturulmuştur. Akıllı evler, “Home Assistant” teknolojisini kapsamlı bir şekilde kullanır. Oluşturulan akıllı ev platformu, sensörler ve kameralardan yararlanıyor. İnsanlar, sensörler ve kameralar kullanarak evlerini uzaktan izleyebilmekte ve yönetebilmektedir. Geliştirilen akıllı ev platformu üzerinde “brute force ftp”, “brute force ssh”, “dos http flood”, “dos icmp flood”, “dos syn flood”, “syn scan” ve “udp scan” olmak üzere yedi saldırı gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplanan veri seti, “normal” paketlerle birlikte sekiz sınıftan oluşmaktadır. Sekiz sınıf için toplam 435815 örnek veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen bu veri seti üzerinde XGBOOST algoritması kullanılmış ve saldırı türleri sınıflandırılmıştır. Hold-out 80:20 ve Hold-out 70:30 eğitim testi verileri için sırasıyla %92.55 ve %92.49 doğruluk hesaplanmıştır. Önerilen XGBOOST algoritmasının sonuçları, diğer makine öğrenimi algoritmalarının sonuçlarıyla karşılaştırılmış ve sonuçların başarılı olduğu görülmüştür.

Now-a-days, e-health and healthcare applications in the internet of things are growing rapidly. These applications are starting from remote monitoring of patient's parameters in home to monitoring patients during his life activities at work, transportation, etc. So we can monitor patients at any place outside of hospitals and clinical settings. By using this technology, we can save lives and reduce the number of emergency visits to hospitals. In contemporary time, there are great progress and opportunities for the internet of things (IoT) related E-health systems. Most IoT e-health platforms consist of three main parts; client nodes (patient or doctor), IoT server and IoT communication messaging protocol. One of E-health systems design over IoT challenge is choosing the most suitable IoT messaging protocol for E-health applications. In this paper, IoT remote patient and e-Health monitoring system was designed for monitoring physiological medical signals of patients based on most two famous IoT messaging protocols, MQTT and CoAP. These medical signals can be include parameters like heart rate signals, electro-cardio graph (ECG), patient temperature, blood pressure, etc. This practical comparison between CoAP and MQTT is to choose most suitable for e-health systems. The proposed approach was evaluated based on most significant protocol parameters like capability, efficiency, communication method and message delay. Practical and simulation results show the performance of the proposed E-health systems over IoT for different network infrastructure with different losses percentages.

IoT-based applications operate in a client–server architecture, which requires a specific communication protocol. This protocol is used to establish the client–server communication model, allowing all clients of the system to perform specific tasks through internet communications. Many data communication protocols for the Internet of Things are used by IoT platforms, including message queuing telemetry transport (MQTT), advanced message queuing protocol (AMQP), MQTT for sensor networks (MQTT-SN), data distribution service (DDS), constrained application protocol (CoAP), and simple object access protocol (SOAP). These protocols only support single-topic messaging. Thus, in this work, an IoT message protocol that supports multi-topic messaging is proposed. This protocol will add a simple “brain” for IoT platforms in order to realize an intelligent IoT architecture. Moreover, it will enhance the traffic throughput by reducing the overheads of messages and the delay of multi-topic messaging. Most current IoT applications depend on real-time systems. Therefore, an RTOS (real-time operating system) as a famous OS (operating system) is used for the embedded systems to provide the constraints of real-time features, as required by these real-time systems. Using RTOS for IoT applications adds important features to the system, including reliability. Many of the undertaken research works into IoT platforms have only focused on specific applications; they did not deal with the real-time constraints under a real-time system umbrella. In this work, the design of the multi-topic IoT protocol and platform is implemented for real-time systems and also for general-purpose applications; this platform depends on the proposed multi-topic communication protocol, which is implemented here to show its functionality and effectiveness over similar protocols.
